A strong defender who is able to play at left-back or at the heart of the defence, Kris has represented Scotland and also captained under 17 national side.

His first year with the Academy Kris quickly established himself as a regular in Gary Bowyer's squad, the following season Paterson was often the captain of the under 18s.

After already featuring for the Reserves in the Lancashire Senior Cup, the young defender made his first Reserve league start in Rovers' 2-1 victory over Manchester United in February 2008.

Kris went on to make five appearances for the Reserves and with 2008/09 being his first full year with the Reserves, he'll will be looking to become a regular starter.
