After a successful trial with the club, this box-to-box midfielder with an eye for goal signed initially until the end of the 2008 season, before then being given a further years contract with the club.

Previously with non-league side Ashton Athletic, Alex scored his first Rovers goal in their 4-3 win over Crewe at the end of January 2008.

After featuring for the Reserves last season whilst at the Academy, Alex will be looking to cement a regular place in the Reserve side for the 08/09 campaign.
