Motherwell move for Blackman

Posted on: Sat 21 Aug 2010

Rovers striker Nick Blackman has joined Scottish Premier League side Motherwell on a five-month loan deal.

The 20-year-old, who will remain at Fir Park until January 4th, is yet to make a first team appearance for Sam Allardyce's side.

However, he did start both games, against Hearts and Celtic, on the recent pre-season trip north of the border.

Blackman, who is the reserves' top scorer in pre-season with nine goals, has spent similar spells with Blackpool and Oldham since signing from Macclesfield Town in January 2009.

He made his debut for Craig Brown's side in yesterday's 3-2 defeat at home to Hibs, winning a 75th-minute penalty just seconds after coming on from the bench.
