Rovers Reserves didn't get the end of season send-off they were hoping for as late goals gave Burnley victory at the Crown Ground.
Nick Blackman scored a brace for Rovers, but late strikes from Nimani and Fletcher gave the home side a rare Reserve win.
On a terribly dry surface, both sides struggled to get to grips in the early exchanges, but eventually it was the home team who took advantage.
But in their way was Jake Kean who made a series of impressive saves to deny Nimani, Kay and Fletcher.
Rovers' only chance of note in the first half fell to Aaron Doran, but he fired wide when well placed.
Whilst the first half lacked goals and excitement, the second certainly didn't. Rovers opening the scoring on 51 minutes when a break down the left involving Josh Morris and Zac Aley saw Morris cross for Nick Blackman to sweep the ball home under the dive of Lund.
But Burnley hit back well, a free-kick from the right was met well by the head of Fletcher and the ball arrowed into the back of the net.
Rovers quickly recovered and regained the lead, Julio Santa Cruz's cross was helped on by Aley and Blackman applied the finishing touch at the back post.
Iain Brunskill's side looked to be heading for their third Reserve victory in seven days, but two goals in the last two minutes saw the game turned on its head.
On 88 minutes King took the ball into the area to square to Nimani and his miscued effort beat Kean.
Then just as the added time board was being shown Burnley grabbed the winner. A ball into the area caused chaos and Wes Fletcher was there to poke home for his second of the game.
Rovers now have to wait until the final match is played in the Barclays Reserve League North to find out if they've finished the season in third or fourth place as Liverpool take on Sunderland this evening.
