Reserves beat Rangers

Posted on: Mon 27 Jul 2009

Iain Brunskill's side made it three wins out of three so far this pre-season with a comfortable 2-1 win over Rangers at Murray Park.

It was Marcus Marshall who got the Reserves off to the perfect start with a goal after just a minute, his third strike in as many games this pre-season.

He then had a hand in Rovers' second six minutes later, threading the ball onto Nick Blackman who doubled the lead for the Lancashire side.

Rangers hit back from a quickly taken free-kick after Frank Fielding was harshly adjudged to have handled outside the area, but Rovers were dominant throughout and should have added further goals.

The Reserves are back in action on Tuesday evening when they travel to Leigh Sports Village to take on Leigh Genesis. Tickets are on sale from the Leigh Sports Village ticket office on the day of the game. These are priced at £6 for Adults, £4 for over 65s and full time students with ID, whilst Juniors under 18 can see the match for £2.
