IRELAND'S under 21 side could only manage a goalless draw in their final Intercontinental Cup group match against Iraq in Malaysia on Monday.

A win would have secured Don Given's side safe passage through to the last four of the competition, but they were left frustrated as they couldn't find a way past a stubborn Iraqi back-line.

All three of the Rovers' contingent took part in the game, Eddie Nolan and Keith Treacy both played the full ninety minutes, whilst Alan Judge was a second half substitute, playing the last 23 minutes.

But the point should be enough to see them through to the semi-finals, only a two-goal win by Iraq over Nigeria on Wednesday will see Ireland miss out after Malaysia could only manage a 1-1 draw with the Nigerian's in the other match.
