RESERVE team boss Glyn Hodges has named a youthful side to take on Manchester United with several players making their debuts at this level.

The Rovers second string takes on their counterparts from Manchester United at Northwich's Victoria Ground this evening, kick-off 7.00pm, but with Mark Hughes and the first team squad away for a week of warm weather training, it has meant that three players will make their Reserve team bow.

In goal is 16 year-old Bjorn Bussman, the German schoolboy international has made five appearances for the Academy, and with his Academy team-mate Andreas Arestidou on loan at Lancaster City for a month, the 'keeper will get his first taste of action for the Reserves.

In defence January transfer window signing Johnny Flynn also makes his debut, after playing 90 minutes for the Academy on Saturday, the Northern Irishman makes the step up to Glyn Hodges' side.

Up front Martin McCubbin also makes his first Reserves appearance, the forward has scored three times in his fourteen appearances for the Academy this campaign.

The substitutes bench sees three further players named for the first time, whilst Raffaele De Vita has recovered from a knee injury to also take his place in the 15-man squad.
