Biography:
After a successful trial with the club, former boss Mark Hughes bought the giant central defender for a fee of £400,000 from German Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin.
Strong in the air and surprisingly agile on the ground, the Congo international quickly established himself at the club alongside captain Ryan Nelsen at the heart of the Rovers defence.
Chris has also chipped in with a couple of key goals, and has taken no time in becoming a firm favourite with the Rovers fans.
In October 2007, Samba signed a new five-year deal that keeps him contract to the club until the summer of 2012.
