Biography:
This highly experienced defender signed from Dutch side PSV Eindhoven in August 2006 for an undisclosed fee on an initial two-year-deal with the club having an option of a third year.
A versatile defender, André is able to play anywhere across the back line and also in midfield, however his first season with Rovers was cruelly cut short when the Dutchman sustained a broken leg in January 2007.
But Ooijer quickly bounced back and his displays in the 2007/08 campaign saw the club take up the option of a further year of the Dutch international, extending his contract until the summer of 2009
