Biography:
Born in Glasgow, but very much a local lad of Blackburn. Worked his way through the ranks of the Academy and Reserves to break into the Rovers first team squad.
His versatility has proved to be useful for the squad as Paul is able to operate up front, on either flank or in the centre of midfield.
Spent a successful 2005/06 season on loan with Championship side Stoke City as the Scottish under 21 international finished top scorer for the Potters with twelve goals, and after five months on loan at Preston North End, January 2008 saw him re-join the club from the Potteries on loan until the end of the season, but unfortunately he was only on the fringes of the squad as Stoke achieved promotion to the Premier League.
Returned to Rovers at the end of the season, and featured as a substitute as Rovers defeated Grimsby in the Carling Cup, before being loaned out to Plymouth Argle for the season.
