Ewood E-Males: Morten Gamst Pedersen
Always one to score spectacular goals, Ewood favourite Morten Gamst Pedersen tackles your questions...
Hei Morten, greetings from Norway! My question is, in the current squad of players, who's got the fastest acceleration and who's got the highest top speed?
Morten Helgerud, Lier (Norway)
Brett Emerton seems to be able to quicker and quicker when he is running, but in terms of acceleration, Sergio Peter and Matt Derbyshire are both quite quick off the mark.
Hi Morten. First of all, I'd like to say how refreshing it is to see a player of your years, with the talent you possess, with such a modest nature - it is an admirable asset and I applaud you for that. My question is, having changed the name on your shirt this season from your father's to your mother's, do you intend to repeat this on a seasonal basis or will you be sticking with Gamst?
Gerardine Murphy, Lancashire
I'm proud of both names - Pedersen and Gamst - so there was no particular reason behind changing, but everybody calls me Gamst in Norway so that was one of the main reasons, but you never know - maybe I'll be Pedersen again next season!
Hi Morten. I used to watch Bolton, but since you came to Rovers I've been coming to Ewood ever since. People talk about you being the Norwegian David Beckham - do you like that title and do you like the added attention you get from girls?
Dayna Whewell, Euxton
I've never likened myself to David Beckham, it's always been other people who have made that reference. I just try to think about myself - I'm just a normal guy, who does normal things. I play football, I work hard and I also have a girlfriend - so I enjoy all of those things.
Hi Morten, do you feel the arrival of Stephen Warnock will give you licence to attack even more?
Z. Hussain, Keighley
Yeah, he's been brilliant. We're getting to know each other more and more in every game. He's a good, who likes to go forward, as do I, so in time things can only get better.
Dear Morten. Do you have any regrets about moving from Tromso to Blackburn Rovers?
Vlasios Michalopoulos, Sydney (Australia)
No - it was a dream come true! It was a bit scary, of course, in the beginning, because you are moving away from your safe surroundings to new people and a new country, but I have no regrets.
Hello Morten. I know you speak good English, but was it a struggle when you first arrived at Rovers and who do you get on best with at the club?
Daniel Murry, Devon
Of course. You are nervous about trying to overcome a new language, but people advised me just to talk as much as possible, because even if you get the odd word wrong in the beginning, with practice, others would gradually begin to understand what you mean and I would begin to understand them - because English people do talk fast! I probably get on best with Pete (Peter Enckelman), because he's Scandinavian too and we have a lot in common.
Hi Morten, how did it feel to score that wonder goal against Sheffield United in the 92nd minute to win the game?
Katie Collins, Blackburn
It was a brilliant feeling because I practice free-kicks so much it was nice to get something back for it. But the three points was the most important thing. It's always fun to score a winning goal right at the end, but the result was the most important thing after a slightly disappointing game.
Hi Morten, how often do you practice free-kicks and what is your free-kick routine in training?
Your great fan Martin Janata, Most (Czech Republic)
The day before every game, I go down with Kevin Hitchcock somewhere quiet to practice my free-kicks. Because we've been playing twice a week a lot this season, it's been twice a week when I'm alone with him, so it's been good for me and the team. You want to hit the target every time, which you can't always do, but the more you practice the greater those odds become.
Morten, how do you psych yourself up for a game and what does your pre-match routine normally involve?
Robert Jessop, Bolton
I just try to relax as much as possible. I watch TV, talk to my friends and girlfriend and try to eat the right things. On the day of a game, I always put my left boot on first and my left shinpad - not because I'm superstitious - just because that's my normal routine.
Hello Morten, as I am probably your number one fan, can you tell me if you are enjoying life with the mighty blues and what is your favourite game/goal so far this season?
Ryan Cooke (aged 9)
There are some really nice people here, they're a good bunch of players and we're doing well, so I'm very happy. We've had a new experience with Europe and we're chasing that again this season. We're in the top half of the table and in the semi-final of the FA Cup, which is where we want to be, so I'm having lots of fun. My favourite game this season would have to be beating Liverpool at home on Boxing Day. There was a great atmosphere and we hadn't beaten them for quite some time, so that was a great feeling. And my favourite goal would have to be the one against Sheffield United, for similar reasons.
Hey Morten, who is the biggest joker in the dressing room and have you ever been on the receiving end of any practical jokes?
Steven Williams, Ormskirk
Mickey Gray is funny and Sav tries to be funny! There are a few people - Mickey, Sav and Dunny - the people who talk a lot, but I'm not the guy who usually gets picked on. They do say some funny things sometimes though!
Hey Morten. Your extraordinary goals keep flying in, but where did you learn and how long did it take you to get your free-kicks and corners this good?
Bekki Rom, Blackpool
I don't know where I first realised I could take them, but before I came to Blackburn they have always been a part of my game. Every club I've ever played for, I've always taken set-pieces, so it just comes naturally to me and it's a lot of fun.
You're a hero at Blackburn, but who was your footballing hero growing up?
Stephen Collier, Liverpool
My favourite player was Marco van Basten, because he was a great striker. But not only was he a great player, but he was also a great person off the pitch, who a lot of people really liked.
Hi Morten, who has had the biggest influence on your career?
Luke Maxwell, Blackburn
The people who are closest to me have helped me all the way and have been the biggest influence in my career. When I do well or when things haven't gone so well, they are always there for me.
You have scored some absolute crackers in your time at Rovers, but which one is your favourite?
Chris Lambert, Great Harwood
The winning goal at Old Trafford! We hadn't won there for so many years, so to score the winning goal against a team like Man United was very special. People always assume it would be my goal against Burnley because of the local rivalry, but the Man U goal is the one that I remember more than most.
Hi Morten, have you ever managed to score from a corner either in training or in a real match?
Savio Mathias, London
I've scored from corners in Norway a number of times, but I haven't managed to do that here. My corners haven't been great recently, but it's something that we're working on, because it's best to try and get it sorted now so that we can score some more goals from set pieces.
Do you think you will stay at Blackburn for the rest of your career?
Chloe Fletcher, Kendal
I would like to return to Norway when I get older, so maybe I will finish my career over there, but I'm doing really well in England, I've got another three-and-a-half years left on my contract, the people are really nice and I'm enjoying life, so I'm happy to be here.
Morten, you seem to have an excellent relationship with your national team manager, Hareide. How do you work around the different playing styles requested by two coaches with the club and country duties that take place during the season?
Rexie Jones, Melbourne (Australia)
It is different, because at Blackburn I train day-in and day-out with all the players, whilst with the national team, you meet with the players just a few days before the game. But you just have to try to do the best you can for both teams. I love wearing the Norwegian crest on my shirt and playing for my country, but it's also great to play for Blackburn.
