Benni McCarthy celebrates his goals
McCarthy made it 18 goals this season with his brace against Bolton on Sunday

BENNI McCarthy bagged two goals from the penalty spot as Rovers recorded another win on the road, this time over Bolton Wanderers at the Reebok.

After a first half that was short on goalmouth action, the same couldn't be said for the second as Rovers took the lead just before the hour mark when McCarthy converted from the spot after Gary Speed had upended David Bentley.

Ten minutes later it was McCarthy's turn to be felled in the box and the South African struck the ball to the same corner and despite the best efforts of Bolton 'keeper Jussi Jaaskelainen the ball nestled safely in the back of the net.

Nicolas Anelka set up a frantic finale when he pulled a goal back for the hosts, and there was high drama when Abdoulaye Faye's looping header was disallowed with seconds remaining.

Rovers World subscribers can now watch the best of the action from the win at the Reebok, if you haven't yet signed up then you can do so for just £19.99, find out more details here.
