Racism - Not under our roof

Blackburn Rovers will join communities of all races, cultures and religious beliefs in backing the unifying message of 'One Game, One Community' as part of the Kick It Out Week of Action this October by holding a day of action at Ewood Park at the match against Bolton Wanderers on Sunday, 22 October.

As part of a number of activities being undertaken at Blackburn Rovers in support of "Kick It Out", football's national anti-racism campaign, young people following programmes in the Club's Education Department have been examining the issues of racism, bullying and anti-social behaviour while also using their newly-acquired ICT skills to produce posters designed to raise public awareness and to underline the fact that such behaviour, both on and off the field, is unacceptable and unwanted by the majority.

The winning posters, which will appear on the front cover of the match programme, have been judged on the basis of message impact and design. Young people from local schools and from a Bolton youth project will lead the pre-match "Kick It Out" banner parade while, both before the game and at half-time, The Bethany Family choir from Tanzania will entertain the crowd, singing in English and Swaheli.

Blackburn Rovers is pleased to be supporting the Kick It Out national anti-racism week of action again this year through a number of activities over the coming weeks. These activities are in keeping with the Club's pledge to tackle racism in all its forms and to ensure that Ewood Park is a welcoming place for all supporters and players regardless of skin colour, ethnic origin or culture.
