Champions!

MARK Hughes is convinced that the Academy has a major role to play in the club's future, both short and long term.

The Rovers boss was given the task of handing the trophy to Rovers' young guns last night, and has spoke of the importance of the club's youth structure.

"It is very important that we embrace the Academy and ensure that flow of youngsters coming through the system up to senior level continues.

"The Academy team has done very well this year and everyone connected with the club is delighted by that.

"I have tried to integrate youngsters with the senior squad whenever possible, that has mutual benefits and is vital for a young player's education and development."
