BOSS HAILS BEATEN HEROES

Posted on: Thu 03 Feb 2005

Mark Hughes described his gallant Rovers as "magnificent" despite suffering a home defeat at the hands of Premier League Chelsea leaders at Ewood Park

"We gave it a real go and if any team deserved to win it was us," said the Rovers boss after the single-goal reverse.

"We made Chelsea look ordinary and that says an awful lot about the way we played. We didn't get the reward we deserved and that was the only disappointment for me.

"Chelsea were fortunate and if their management teram is honest, as I hope they are, then they will say the same. We were magnificent and if we continue in that form then we will be fine."
