Posted on: Wed 17 Nov 2004

ROVERS have confirmed that goalkeeping coach Roy Tunks has left the club to take up a similar position with Newcastle United.

The vastly experienced Tunks has been with Rovers for more than five seasons and has opted fro a move to link up again with Graeme Souness, Alan Murray, Dean Saunders and Phil Boersma, who all left Rovers last month for the North East.

It was revealed that Newcastle officials approached Rovers for permission to talk with Tunks. He met with the Magpies, everything was agreed and he has made the move.
