Souness: We shouldn't have lost the game
GRAEME Souness has told his players to continue to battle, to retain their Premiership status.
Rovers' tenth home defeat against fellow strugglers Leeds United, now sees a host of clubs on 31 points, with it all to play for with six games remainig.
"It was a bad day for us, the other results have gone well, but the worst result for us was that we got beat today," said Souness.
"It is going to make it very difficult, we have six games left, but we can still put it right.
"The amount of games we have started badly and gifted goals before we warmed up, and that was the case today as we gifted them a goal after two mintues.
"In terms of effort, I can't fault them, we could have been more creative, but in terms of fighting and scrapping, I can't ask for more than we got.
"I felt Amoruso and Short were outstanding today, if we had had those two together all season, we wouldn't be in the position we are today.
"We huffed and puffed today, but we didn't create enough, we didn't deliver enough quality."
Rovers now face the trip to London to take on Fulham on Monday evening, and the manager is sure that his side will come out fighting for the game.
"We'll come out fighting, it is the only answer, they are big boys, they understand the predicament we are in, they want to be playing Premiership football next year.
"They really want it, so it is up to them," added the Rovers boss.
