Alan Kelly has hung up his gloves

Rovers goalkeeper Alan Kelly has been forced into early retirement after a freak training ground injury.

The former Republic of Ireland international goalkeeper has taken medical advise and called time on an illustrious career after failing to recover from an injury sustained in training at the start of the season.

Preston born Kelly said he would rather his career had ended in a different way, but recovery from this injury was proving harder than those he had sustained in the past, and he'd reluctantly taken medical advice to hang up his gloves.

Today's Rovers World brings you an interview with Kelly, who has made more than 500 appearances for club and country.
