Souness: Two points dropped.
GRAEME Souness was frustrated with his side's first half performance, but delighted with the fightback that Rovers showed in the second half to come from behind to earn a point from today's game.
Kevin Phillips scored after just five minutes, but Andy Cole blasted home from close range at the beginning of the second half, and but for some fine saves from Antti Niemi they could have gained all three points.
"In the first half we were poor, it was a lively old pitch, we couldn't get any sort of rhythm going," said the manager after the game on Radio Rovers.
"In the second half we were a lot better, we were more aggressive in everything we did and we got a point, and I suppose except for a couple of great saves from their 'keeper we could easily have won it but that's not to be."
Rovers had a great shout for a penalty in the first half when Brett Emerton appeared to be upended by Graeme Le Saux in the penalty area, but the manager feels that is par for the course this season for Rovers.
"We are not going to get a one, our supporters have to accept we are not going to get one.
"The frustrations that we all felt after five minutes, we have to avoid that, we are playing under pressure, we gifted them a goal after five minutes through poor, poor marking. The simplest of football, and that can't happen.
"Overall I'm feeling disappointment because I think it is another two points that we could easily have had in the bag," added the Rovers boss.
