SQUAD FOR NEWCASTLE

Posted on: Wed 17 Nov 2004

Martin Andresen is named in the squad

ROVERS chief Graeme Souness has named a strong 19-man squad for tomorrow night's Ewood Park date with Newcastle United.

Rovers are hoping to do the double over the Magpies after Paul Gallagher snatched a late winner in December's match at St James' Park.

Only long-term absentees Barry Ferguson, Lorenzo Amoruso, Steven Reid and David Thompson remain on the sidelines for the much-anticipated clash, while new signing Martin Andresen is included in the squad for the first time.

The Norwegian import scored on his first start in a Rovers shirt for the Reserves last week and was initially given time to regain his match fitness.

Andresen is joined in the squad by fellow new boy and Saturday's match-winner Jonathan Stead who is all set to make his Ewood bow.

Rovers: Friedel, Enckelman, Neill, Gray, Short, Johansson, Gallagher, Andresen, Todd, Babbel, Tugay, Flitcroft, Douglas, Emerton, Cole, Yorke, Jansen, Stead, Gresko.
