FORMER Rovers' favourites Colin Hendry and Kevin Gallacher are set for a nostalgic return to Ewood Park.

It's not a 'transfer window' scoop, but it's certainly an exclusive coup for the club and Football Aid.

The Rovers' legends are lending their support to this year's big charity match at Ewood Park, scheduled for Tuesday May 18 and kicking off at 7 pm.

The superstars will definitely act as managers for their respective Rovers' teams, but confirmation is awaited as to whether they will be playing captains as well.

Football Aid aims to raise cash for charities helping children with diabetes and other good causes backed by the clubs themselves and the football authorities.

Rovers' Secretary Tom Finn said: "Football Aid has been a fantastic idea and a great success in previous years. It really gives us the chance to put something back into the community. Our fans have a real passion for the club and the game. As before, I'm sure they will relish the chance to experience what it's like to pull on the team strip and play in the stadium."

Last season, Rovers' fans joined Kevin Gallacher and Simon Garner for the Football Aid 'Field of Dreams' match at the famous stadium, helping to raise thousands of pounds for the national cause.


This time around, Kevin is back and will go head-to-head with big Colin, his former team-mate fellow Scottish international.
