FERGIE SUCCESS

Posted on: Wed 17 Nov 2004

Ferguson could now miss just three months

ROVERS have confirmed that Barry Ferguson's operation has been a great success.

The midfielder dislocated his kneecap in the victory over Newcastle United at St James' Park on Sunday.

He was stretchered off the field after 27 minutes. He later travelled back to Lancashire on the club coach and was transferred to hospital.

Chief executive John Williams said today: "Barry underwent a two hour operation in a Manchester hospital. The surgeons say he will make a complete recovery."

The initial prognosis was that Barry will be out for the rest of the season. It is now slightly better with talk of him missing three months only, but it is still too early to be specific.

News of Barry Ferguson's operation was sent out first and exclusively to subscribers of our SMS Breaking News service, if you would like to have major news stories sent to your mobile phone then text CLUB ROVRS ON to 88442.
