SENDING OFF CHANGED THE GAME - BABBEL

Posted on: Wed 17 Nov 2004

Babbel: Lucas's red card was harsh

AS IN the previous game against Liverpool earlier this season, Markus Babbel felt that the emphasis in the game hinged on the sending off of a Rovers player.

"The first penalty was important, because we played so well in the first half, we were moving, we were running, we created a lot of chances, we scored a goal, to concede a goal like that was so hard and the sending off changed the emphasis of the game," said Markus Babbel after the game on Radio Rovers.

"It wasn't the first game like this where can't score goals, we have worked hard and we have no result.

"Sunday is the next important game against Leicester, and I hope we can bring the same style of football as we have shown today.

"I think we did a really good job today, just not the result, but the luck will come back if we work hard and play the same style of football as we have done today.

"We have to work harder to make not so many mistakes, we need to get a clean sheet next time, because if you don't concede a goal you do not lose.

"We did ok today, if not for the result, we are now looking forward to Sunday."
