Souness, it wasn't a dirty game

Rovers boss Graeme Souness today issued the following statement in response to reports in the national media which followed the Premiership match with Liverpool.

"There were 28 fully-committed professionals out there on Saturday as you would expect in a top Premiership fixture.

"Unfortunately, the one reckless challenge of the afternoon resulted in a bad injury.

"It was not a nasty game, Lucas Neill is not a dirty player and there was no vicious intent in the challenge.

"I, along with everyone at the club, is very saddened to hear the news and we wish Jamie Carragher - and Milan Baros - the speediest possible recovery."
