ROVERS have responded to a national newspaper report linking Graeme Souness with interest from Chelsea.

Ewood chief executive John Williams said this morning: "The simple fact is, we have received no approach from Chelsea and we certainly wouldn't welcome one.

"Graeme has spent the summer putting together a squad of top players he is very excited about working with. We are all looking forward to that happening as the season unfolds."
