Baggio, impressed Souness

DINO Baggio has made quite an impression during his stay with Rovers this week.

Graeme Souness explained this morning: "I was made aware of his availability in the summer. Wolves were also in for him, but we invited him to come and spend a few days with us at Brockhall.

" He has been very impressive in training, even though he is not match fit. He was 'binned' by Lazio and has been training on his won. No matter how good you are at that, you are bound to lose sharpness.

"He is clearly a quality player and I will look at he situation and make a decision next week."

The boss also confirmed the continued interest in German defender Markus Babbel, currently with Liverpool. Rovers are currently negotiating with his representatives.
