Kean's weekend frustration

Posted on: Thu 26 Jan 2012

Whilst Rovers boss Steve Kean is disappointed his side don't have a match this weekend, it will allow him to give David Dunn some time to recover from recent knocks.

Dunny has been back to his best in recent games, netting his first goal this season in the 3-1 win over Fulham, before impressing once again in Rovers' 1-1 with Everton at Goodison Park last time out.

The Rovers midfielder had to come off after an hour in that match as a precaution after suffering a hip injury, but the extra time between matches should ensure that he'll be fit and ready for the match against Newcastle United at Ewood Park on Wednesday February 1st.

"It is frustrating that we haven't now got a game this weekend, we are in a good vein of form," said boss Steve Kean.

"When you are playing the way we are you want the games to come thick and fast, so it is disappointing, but it will give us another opportunity to make sure that Dunny is okay, to make sure he's over the tight hip that he's got and then we can look forward to the next game."

Tickets for the Newcastle match on Wednesday 1st February are currently on open sale for the match with prices starting from £17 for Adults, £12 for Seniors and £7 for Juniors. Book online today at www.onerovers.co.uk.
