Norway shock Portugal

Posted on: Wed 08 Sep 2010

Norway pulled off something of a surprise on Tuesday evening when they defeated Portugal 1-0 in Olso.

Erik Huseklepp got the only goal of the game in the 21st minute as the Norwegian's claimed an important win to top Group H after two matches.

Rovers winger Morten Gamst Pedersen played the full match for Norway.

Also on Euro 2012 qualifying duties was Zurab Khizanishvili. The defender played the full match for Georgia in their goalless draw against Israel in Tbilisi.

Brett Emerton saw red for Australia in their friendly match against Poland in Krakow. The Rovers midfielder started the match on the bench but was an early substitute after just 29 minutes.

However a second half yellow card, followed immediately by a second for dissent meant an early withdrawl for Emerton as Australia won the match 2-1.
