Sam Allardyce has warned that Norwich City will still on a high following their promotion to the Championship last season.
Paul Lambert celebrates a year in charge of the Canaries and as the two sides go head-to-head at Ewood Park in the second round of the Carling Cup this Tuesday evening, boss Allardyce believes their opponents will be a tough task.
"It is a home tie but will still be difficult," said the Rovers boss.
"Norwich got promoted last season so they'll still be on a great high.
"But we did play away last year at Gillingham and I think they had just been promoted as well but in the end it was a comfortable win."
Sam Allardyce has seen his squad reduced in size due to injuries, leaving his selection an easier task than he'd have preferred.
"My main problem at the moment is not being able to put in the likes of Vince Grella, David Dunn, Keith Andrews and Pascal Chimbonda in the team.
"I'd love to be selecting those players but I'm not sure they'll be fit enough to play on Tuesday night so that is a bit of a blow as they are strong players for us and should play a big part in this years' games.
"So we are limited to how many changes we can make from Saturday due to the injuries that we have, but we'll make a few and put the rest on the bench because that is all we have."
Tickets for the game are on sale right up until the 8.00pm kick-off, full pricing details are available here.
