Blackman wins it for 'Well

Posted on: Mon 23 Aug 2010

Nick Blackman marked his first start for loan club Motherwell by bagging the only goal of the game in their 1-0 win over Kilmarnock on Sunday.

The 20-year-old forward, who joined Motherwell on loan until January, was a substitute in their previous league game, but on his first 90 minute outing for the Scottish Premier League side he grabbed a 37th minute goal to give Craig Brown's side their first win of the season.

Rovers' other player out on loan, Alex Marrow, was a second half substitute for Crystal Palace.

The Championship side were trailing 2-0 to Ipswich Town when the midfielder was introduced on 83 minutes, and although former Rover Neil Danns pulled a goal back for the Eagles, George Burley's side were on the losing side.
