Exciting times at Ewood

Posted on: Wed 18 Aug 2010

Club captain Ryan Nelsen admits he is excited about what the future holds for Blackburn Rovers.

"It's fantastic, especially with the young players coming through and the potential takeover," he said.

"Whether that goes through or not, with the players that we have here and the young players coming through, it's great just to be part of the team."

Rovers finished 10th last term and Ryan insists that targeting the European places is a realistic aim for this season.

"I think we're well capable of doing it, but then I think probably 15 teams in the Premier League would probably say the same thing," he added.

"That's the brutal reality of the league, that's why it's so difficult.

"We have the capability of doing it, but as I've said, so do other teams. So there's a fine line between sixth and 16th. It's a fine, fine line and it's getting even harder."
