2010 Sydney Festival of Football launches

MANAGER Sam Allardyce and team captain Ryan Nelsen both attended Saturday's official launch of the first 2010 Sydney Festival of Football.

The Rovers duo both spoke of their excitement in taking part in the inaugural tournament that gets underway on Sunday, firstly with AEK Athens taking on Sydney FC, before Rovers take centre stage with their game against Rangers.

The tournament was officially opened by New South Wales' Major Events Minister Kevin Greene, with the managers and captains of the four teams taking part all present at the press conference.

Rovers fans in Australia will get the opportunity to purchase official Rovers merchandise as a selection of items will be available from the Superstore at the Sydney Football Stadium. An opportunity to watch the team train will also be confirmed in due course.
