Only a win will do

Posted on: Wed 23 Jun 2010

Australia play their final group match against Serbia knowing that they have to win to stand any chance of qualifying for the last 16 of the World Cup.

Pim Verbeek's side are bottom of Group D having just one point from their two matches and a goal difference of minus four. They must beat Serbia in their final group match to have any hope of progressing.

But even then their chances will hinge on the outcome of Ghana's clash with Germany in Johannesburg. A win from one of those sides, preferably Germany, could see them through.

Brett Emerton is once again expected to start for the Socceroos, but Vince Grella's knee injury sees him remain on the sidelines.

bet365 match odds: Australia win 16/5, Draw 5/2, Serbia win 10/11
