Posted on: Wed 09 Jun 2010

Sweden's under 21 side surged ahead in their UEFA Under 21 qualification group after a comfortable 2-0 win over Montenegro in Halmstad.

Rovers winger Martin Olsson played the full ninety minutes for the Swedes who easily overcame ten-man opposition.

After a tight opening, the home side took control but couldn't find the back of the net until the 33rd minute. It came from the penalty spot after Stefan Savic saw red for a foul in the area. Denni Avdic scoring from twelve yards.

The Swedes saw plenty of possession but the game wasn't made safe until the 89th minute when Rasmus Jonsson added the second.

The result leaves Sweden top of Group 6 on 16 points from their six games played, Montenegro lie three points behind having played a game more.

Sweden play their final two group games the first week of September.
