Ireland impress

Posted on: Sat 29 May 2010

The Republic of Ireland showed their international credentials once again by defeating another World Cup bound team in a friendly match on home soil.

After a 2-1 victory over Paraguay on Tuesday, Giovanni Trapattoni's side followed that up with an impressive 3-1 win over England's World Cup group opponents Algeria on Friday night with goals from Paul Green and a Robbie Keane brace.

Keith Andrews started on the bench as the Ireland boss shuffled his pack, the Rovers midfielder coming on for his 15th cap with fifteen minutes to go at the RDS Stadium.
