Scotland miss out

Posted on: Tue 25 May 2010

SCOTLAND missed out on the chance to take part in the UEFA Under 19 Finals this July when they lost their final Elite League qualifier 1-0 to Croatia.

Following defeat to Belgium on Friday, the Scots only had a slim chance of making the France finale, but against favourites Croatia, they gave a good account of themselves despite the 1-0 loss.

Rovers defender Grant Hanley again captained the side and Scotland were the better of the two teams until Franko Adrijaševic's strike after 19 minutes.

Scotland held Croatia at bay, and even had a late goal disallowed, but it was Croatia with the 100% record who progressed.

In the other group match Belgium defeated Montenegro 4-1, they finished second in the group.
