The future’s bright...

Posted on: Fri 16 Apr 2010

Paul Robinson believes that Rovers have a really bright future after witnessing the general progress of the last few months and the emergence of several youngsters into the cauldron of the Premier League this season.

Rovers' chief Sam Allardyce has blooded a number of young players into the first team over recent months and Robinson reckons it has paid rich dividends.

"I have been pleased with the way the season has gone," said the Rovers' stopper. "I think credit has to go to the manager for giving those young players a chance.

"He has put them in the team and has unearthed a couple of real gems in the likes of Martin Olsson and Phil Jones.

"As a team we have got a great blend of youth and experience and it bodes well for the future, not only this season.

"We have got a very good Academy here. It has brought a lot of players through over the years, players who have made a good living out of football.

"We also have a few good youngsters at the moment that cannot quite make the first team squad just yet. They are around the country on loan at different clubs and doing very well."

Tickets for Saturday's game against Everton are on sale up until the 3pm kick-off. Beat the queues and order online at www.onerovers.co.uk and collect at the ground on the day of the game.
