Sam out to upset

Posted on: Sat 20 Mar 2010

SAM Allardyce is hoping to take advantage of Chelsea's troubles this week when the two sides go head-to-head on Sunday.

Title-chasing Chelsea were knocked out of the Champions League on Tuesday night, and Allardyce wants Carlo Ancelotti's side to be shocked a second time at Ewood Park.

"As good and as big a team as they are we want to upset them and we want to make sure that they don't go home with three points.

"We are going to do our very best to do that.

"If we were at full strength it would be better for us, but Chelsea have had a difficult season and have played something like fifty games.

"Then there was the huge amount of effort they put in against Inter Milan on Tuesday night.

"So there will be some fatigue later on in the game, so we've got to make sure we are in there with a shout.

"If that is the case we may come stronger in the last 20 or so minutes."

Tickets for Sunday's 4pm game are on sale right up until kick-off.
