Pascal eager to impress on Lane return

Posted on: Fri 12 Mar 2010
Pascal Chimbonda will put sentiment to one side when Rovers travel to Tottenham this weekend.

The French full-back made over 100 appearances during two spells with Spurs, prior to his arrival at Ewood Park.

The 31-year-old is expecting a tough test against one of the sides who are attempting to break into the 'big four', but hopes to play his part in a rare Rovers away win.

"I'm looking forward to going back to Spurs and hope to get the right result for Rovers," he said. "I believe we can do it.

"I had three-and-a-half years there, I won the Carling Cup at Wembley and played in Europe for Spurs, so there is good memories for me.

"Spurs have a lot of injuries at the moment, but they still have a lot of good players. I watched the game against Fulham last weekend and they have a good squad.

"They are really strong this season and are fighting for fourth place in the league to try and qualify for the Champions League.

"But I think that if we go there with confidence, because we are in good form, I think we can get the win.

"In the game against Liverpool we proved we can play against the big teams away from home.

"If we take the second half against Liverpool into the game against Spurs then I think we can get a good result down there."
