International round-up

Posted on: Thu 04 Mar 2010

MORTEN Gamst Pedersen was on the winning side for Norway on Wednesday evening.

The Rovers midfielder played the full ninety minutes as Norway picked up a rare win on their travels with a 1-0 victory over Slovakia.

Further afield Zurab Khizanishvili's Georgia grabbed a morale boosting win over Estonia in Tbilisi. The home side winning 2-1.

As expected Frank Fielding was an unused substitute as England's under 21s crashed to a surprise 2-1 defeat at the hands of Greece at Doncaster's Keepmoat Stadium.

Stuart Pearce's side went into the game knowing a win over the league leaders would put England in command, but the honours went to the Greeks who are now five points clear at the top of Group 9.
