Dale defeat the Millers

Posted on: Wed 03 Mar 2010

FRANK Fielding earned the bragging rights amongst the Rovers loan players on Tuesday night as Rochdale defeated Rotherham 4-0 at Spotland.

The game saw league leaders Rochdale, put clear daylight between themselves and their promotion chasing rivals with a comfortable victory.

The game potentially saw four Rovers players involved, Rochdale having Frank Fielding and Andy Haworth, whilst Rotherham had Gavin Gunning and Marcus Marshall in their squads.

Just the two players started however, Fielding and Gunning both playing the full match, whilst Marcus Marshall came on as a second half substitute for the Millers, Andy Haworth was an unused sub for the hosts.

The win sees Rochdale top of League Two, eight points ahead of Bournemouth with a game in hand. Rotherham remain in the play-off places in fifth.
