Sam’s relief over skipper

Posted on: Fri 26 Feb 2010

ROVERS' boss Sam Allardyce is relieved to hear that the injury to Ryan Nelsen is 'not as bad as first feared'.

The skipper limped off early during the win over Bolton last Sunday with a knee problem, but scans have now shown that the injury is not too serious.

"We were all worried initially," admitted Sam. "But now we've had the scans and it has settled down, we are all much more comfortable.

"We are going to miss Ryan for the next few weeks rather than months which we first feared.

"So, I expect to see Ryan back in the next two or three weeks hopefully. It might take a bit longer, but we will see him well before the end of the season, that's for sure."
