Junior keen to develop

Posted on: Fri 26 Feb 2010
JUNIOR Hoilett has spoken of his delight at signing a new contract with the club.

The Canadian starlet, who has become a key member of Sam Allardyce's senior squad this season, hopes to progress as a player over the next two-and-a-half years.

"I'm very happy it is done and sealed," he said. "I'd been looking forward to it and I'm happy to be here.

"It has taken a while, but Blackburn has always been my first choice. I'm comfortable here, I've been here since I was 13, the staff treat me well and I'm happy to develop here at Rovers."

Junior has been involved in 16 Premier League games this term and he hopes more will follow if he continues to work hard in training.

"It has been good," he added.

"I've had my fair share of chances with the first team, so I just want to work hard and to develop my game and improve more and more each time I play.

"It has been difficult at times, but I've coped well and I'm working hard to develop and take my chances."
