ROVERS boss Sam Allardyce was hugely delighted as Bolton and the blizzards were beaten at Ewood Park.

In what turned out to be a comfortable 3-0 win in heavy snow, Nikola Kalinić grabbed the opening goal of the game four minutes before the break, with Jason Roberts and Gael Givet notching second half strikes.

And speaking to Radio Rovers after the game, Allardyce was certainly pleased: "We got the all-important goal just before half-time from a lovely move and I'm really pleased for Niko that he got a little bit of luck this time off the studs of the defender, but I'm sure it will be credited to him as it was certainly on target.

"It was an unusual day, the snowflakes were that big you could hardly see the ball for a while, and at that stage we were having to do some really good defending because Bolton were just getting themselves back into the game.

"We got a very important save off Paul Robinson, even though Bolton didn't create much, and that has then given us the impetus to push on.

"We opened them up and exposed their back four, Junior could have scored with a diving header, and Steven Nzonzi went close.

"But we got the second goal, it made things easier, knocked the stuffing out of Bolton and then we got the third.

"It was an excellent performance in very difficult conditions and we've sent the fans home happy with our fourth home win on the trot."
