SAM Allardyce was once again full of praise of defender Martin Olsson.

The young Swede put in a man-of-the match display including the only goal of the game after his surging run and shot came off Boaz Myhill.

"It was a terrific goal by Martin," said Allardyce. "He had a little bit of fortune that it came off the inside of the goalkeeper's heel but he deserved it because it was quality.

"It was outstanding ability and it deserved to be a goal and deserved to be the winning goal.

"He could have had more, the right-foot volley, the header that went just wide."
