A well earned victory

Posted on: Thu 11 Feb 2010

SAM Allardyce was delighted with yet another three point haul as Rovers made it three home wins in a row with a 1-0 win over Hull City.

Martin Olsson's 16th minute goal was the only one on an evening in which Rovers dominated before and after Hull were reduced to ten minutes.

"It should have been a bit more comfortable, but it is typical of us," Sam told Radio Rovers after the game.

"Everybody has seen how many chances we create and we never really convert as many as we possibly should and there were certainly plenty tonight that have gone begging.

"It should have been more comfortable at the end, Hull were putting long balls into the box in the last minute.

"But it was a well-earned victory, we played some terrific football in the first half.

"In the second half we couldn't find the second goal, we had chance after chance but couldn't put them away.

"But it is a clean sheet, 1-0, and three points and that makes it three wins at home on the trot and ten points from the last 15 and that is heading towards a very good run and lets hope we can keep this up.
