Get past the 30-point mark

Posted on: Wed 10 Feb 2010

BOSS Sam Allardyce knows a win over one of the form teams in the league will go some way to securing their top-flight status.

Rovers go head-to-head against Hull City at Ewood Park this Wednesday evening, knowing a win over Phil Brown's side would move them further away from the teams at the bottom.

But Sam Allardyce knows that it won't be a foregone conclusion as they face a Hull side on a high after recent results.

"You look at their draw at Tottenham, the draw at Chelsea - which I watched personally - and the victory against Manchester City, they are now showing that in terms of form and results that they are one of the top teams in form terms in the Premier League," said Sam.

"So it is probably the wrong time to be playing them, but we have to play them at some stage of the season."

Rovers disappointed on the road last time out, but Allardyce is hoping that a return to home comforts will prevail.

"We have to revert to what our home form is like. How strong it is, how good our record is at Ewood Park.

"We have to continue that home record against Hull City and hopefully secure three points, get past the thirty point mark and then we are into single figures in terms of points left to gain to secure our Premier League status first and then go on from there.

"We have to make sure that when we get the opportunity to claim the points we get them. We've done that at home but we haven't done that away. That is why we are still teetering on that near-safety zone, but not safe enough yet."

Tickets for tonight's game at Ewood are on open sale right up until the 8.00pm kick-off. Prices are from £17.00 for Adults, £12.00 for Seniors/Club 16-21 Members and £7.00 for Juniors 15 and under. Book online right now at www.onerovers.co.uk and collect from the collection point at the ground.
