We'll pick ourselves up

Posted on: Mon 08 Feb 2010

SAM Allardyce is looking for his Rovers side to quickly bounce back after the disappointment of Stoke on Saturday.

Rovers' woes on the road returned once again as they slipped to a disappointing 3-0 defeat.

Ewood Park is the venue for Rovers' next Barclays Premier League match when they take on Hull City on Wednesday night, a game that Allardyce feels won't be a foregone conclusion.

"We'll have to take the Stoke defeat on the chin and pick ourselves up for Wednesday which is going to be a hugely tough game," said Sam.

"I saw Hull City last Tuesday against Chelsea and they defeated Manchester City on Saturday so it will be a big big game on Wednesday night for us to try and get three points on the board."

Saturday's defeat saw Stoke leapfrog them in the table, with Rovers sat in 12th position on 28 points, a figure that should be higher.

"We may not have deserved anything against Stoke, but the throwing away of two points at West Ham was a big miss for us," added Sam. "That is where we are really regretful that we didn't get those three points there.

"We'd be sitting on 30 points rather than the 28 we are on and it would have made us all feel a lot more comfortable. We aren't out of trouble, not by a long chalk.

"We know the magic forty point mark is looming, although nobody has had to get that for many many years, it is the magic number, that is where you have got to get as quickly as we can."

Tickets for Wednesday night's game at Ewood are on open sale right up until the 8.00pm kick-off. Prices are from £17.00 for Adults, £12.00 for Seniors/Club 16-21 Members and £7.00 for Juniors 15 and under. Book online right now at www.onerovers.co.uk
