The victorious Rovers representatives will then compete against the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City, Burnley and Everton in the regional finals on May 6th at Anfield.

Organiser Chris Pettigrew, from Rovers' Community Trust, said: "We had an excellent response, with 70 teams applying for 50 places, including schools from as far afield as Manchester, Ormskirk and Lancaster.
