Grella returns for Britannia test

Posted on: Thu 04 Feb 2010

ROVERS welcome back Vince Grella for Saturday's trip to the Britannia Stadium to take on Stoke City.

The Australian international has missed the last six league matches after tearing a thigh muscle late in the Tottenham match back in December.

The midfielder's inclusion is the only addition to the squad as Sam Allardyce looks to extend their unbeaten run when they face Stoke City at the weekend, with just Lars Jacobsen and David Dunn on the sidelines.

"Vince is back in training and will be back in the squad, " said boss Sam Allardyce. "But Dunny isn't there yet.

"It is a frustration for him and for us, as what seemed just a kick against Aston Villa has lingered on a little longer than expected.

"Lars is back in training, but he won't be involved in the squad this weekend, and Basturk is progressing nicely.

"So we've not many injuries, we've a good strong healthy squad."

The manager is expected to select from: Robinson, Chimbonda, Samba, Nelsen, Givet, Diouf, Emerton, Nzonzi, Pedersen, Olsson, Kalinić, Brown, Roberts, Grella, Reid, Andrews, Hoilett, Di Santo, Salgado, Jones.
